Dr. Khalil has over 25 years of experience in concrete, steel design, fatigue analysis, and structural design, both, in Canada and internationally. He has been involved in designing many projects for public and private sectors. Samples of these projects include high-rise buildings, underground metro stations, education centers, education residences, mobile antenna structures, mobile and electrical towers, as well as, industrial and commercial buildings. Additionally, Dr. Khalil instructs multiple engineering, economics and engineering management courses at educational centers. He also co-authors for many technical journal papers and serves as a technical reviewer for international scientific journals. Dr. Khalil obtained his M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Canada and completed his MBA at Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
Dr. El Refai has over 23 years of experience in reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and geotechnical design. He has been involved in the design of various low and high-rise residential buildings, as well as office buildings within Canada and abroad. Dr. El Refai was involved in the analysis and design of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg (Canada) and the Las Vegas City Center project in Nevada (USA), among other iconic projects in North America. He has significant experience in structures’ modeling using finite element packages. Dr. El Refai is the author of several technical publications in international conferences and reviews several scientific journals in North America and Europe. For more than 20 years, Dr. El Refai has been involved in teaching structural and geotechnical engineering courses at, both, university and professional levels. Dr. El Refai obtained his M.Sc. In geotechnical Engineering and completed his Ph.D. on Advanced Repair Techniques of Concrete Structures from the University of Waterloo.
